What a weekend

After the longest winter I have ever experienced in my life, the last week has been simply amazing. Two weeks ago, I could slowly feel the spring rolling in and by now it even seems as if the spring didn't even get a chance at all to unfold and show its beauty. Since a week nature is just bursting showing its fullest and richest colours, scents, sounds - everything is pouring down on one's senses.

So obviously this weekend was very unlike other routine weekends of a little bit of extra sleep, a bit of shopping, and some sport to salve your consciences and heaps of study work to proceed with the thesis.

Indeed we had holidays. A summer style weekend full of Sun, Bikini, BBQs, parties, meeting friends, and a big firework, called Rhein in Flammen, which is an annualy event beginning of May. The fire work is underlined with nice classic music which is aligned to the firwork and makes it even more impressive.

It should have become my last big countdown weekend to finalize structure and worktitle for my thesis and have final preparations before heading for some reenergizing week to Barcelona this Tuesday. It was all planned out, basically enjoying some days off in some summery place as some sort of substitude for this years missed summer (I will be writing till september) and then jump straight into some marathon writing after my return.

Obviously this overwhelming summer weekend required proper dedication whether other plans were set or not. It was quite striking to see the change in people's behaviour and mood, happiness spread everywhere - i am sure even the local crime rates must have dropped these days.
